Simple Grilled Zucchini recipe… fresh from the garden!

20160806_091005What tastes better then from the store? When it comes from your very own garden. This year I decided to take another shot at growing Zucchinis. I haven’t grown anything but leaves for the last couple years, and this time I was happy I FINALLY got something. What was I doing wrong? I changed the soil in the area and added some fresh new stuff. I also gave it more room to breath (and did it ever… didn’t realize how big these get!) 20160807_103300

So with my excitement of, just had to make a grilled zucchini on the BBQ.

Here is my stupid simple recipe for grilled zucchini.

  1. Cut zucchini on a slant, creating round pieces.
  2. Brush both sides of each piece with Olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper 20160807_104749
  4. Grill on BBQ on low setting, ensuring an even coot (don’t burn)20160807_111424
  5. Eat… eat them all!

Extending the life of your green onions

Did you know you can extend the life of your store bought green onions? You can, and it’s easy!

Step 1: Buy green onions from your grocery store

Step 2: Once you have used your green onions make sure to cut them close to the bottom, while keeping the roots

Step 3:  Put into a clear glass filled with water. You will notice after a week or so, they will start to grow back!

Step 4: Once you have got some good roots established, you are ready to plant in a container with soil.

And there you go! You will now have green onions for a very long time. Enjoy
